IMMERSION CHILLERS
9" Diameter Immersion Chiller
We have used immersion chillers, plate chillers and counter flow chillers. We always come back to the good old standard immersion chillers because you really can't beat them. Immersion chillers are easy to sanitize - you just drop it into the last 5 minutes of your boil.
We played with several design ideas before coming up with these chillers. We looked at chillers with coils at the top, we looked at chillers made of harder copper tubing and we looked at coils made of 50' of tubing instead of 25' of tubing. We even looked at stainless steel, but abandoned that idea right away because of cost. But at the end of the day, you really can't beat basics.
Our chillers are made from soft copper tubing. They ship as the picture shows - with the coil wrapped close together. Before using the chiller, I recommend spreading out the coils so that some of them are in the top part of your wort for better cooling. Then you need to bend the ends over about 90 degrees so that they rest on the edge of your brew pot. We don't pre-bend the ends because we don't know what size or style pot you brew in.
Our immersion chillers feature:
Made from 25' of 3/8" soft copper tubing.
Garden hose in with 4' of 5/16" BIB tubing.
20' of 5/16" BIB tubing attached to the output - more than long enough to reach most kitchen sinks or to run the discharge line away from your brew area.
Completely pre-assembled & ships as shown.
All hose end connections secured with Stainless Steel 17.0 mm Oetiker clamps.
Note: Some coil distortion may occur in shipping. But these are made of soft copper and are easily straightened out.
