Oceania Pale Ale

Drakk en Hāpi Daze fra Garage Project i helgen.. Nydelig øl. Har også drukket et par andre øl med humle fra NEw Zealand.. Ofte veldig friskt og godt.

Kunne tenke meg å brygge en Pale Ale med humle fra regionen.. 5-ish % ABV og frisk og lett. Noen som har tips på en dugelig oppskrift?

Nja, en av mine favorittoppskrifter var noe slikt som

4 kg maris otter (eller var det 4,5 kg? Sikt mot ca OG 1048.)
500 g pale crystal

20 g nelson sauvin 60 min
30 g nelson sauvin 15 min
50 g nelson sauvin 0 min

Last ned Grainfather appen, der er det flere oppskrifter med New Zealand humler. Ikke prøvd noen av de selv, men ikke hørt noen klager på de på Grainfather gruppa heller. Selges også som sett i NZ, så de er mye brygget i hjemlandet. Screenshot_2015-10-03-19-15-22.png
 
Galaxy er en kjempegod humle. Frisk og fin. Flasket en kohatu i dag som også smakte godt. Litt tidlig å si hvordan den ender opp :)

Thank you for your email, and it's great to hear you're enjoying Hapi Daze. We're quite excited to see it stocked in the supermarkets there now!

We don't generally share our recipes, but we can give you some pointers. The malt grist is mainly pale ale with some abbey, and Munich specialty malts. Southern Cross is the main bittering addition, with Motueka, Sauvin and Wai-iti in the boil. The Riwaka is all dry hop addition. It's a straight US ale ferment.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. Some of those NZ hops are quite tricky to get your hands on. The Riwaka in particular is rarely seen outside of NZ now!
