Hello,
at first I would like to thank you for the interest in our products.
Chemically theres not much difference between the candy syrup and the rock candy, because theyre both sugar (100%). The only difference is the fact that the taste of the syrup is stronger than the taste of the rock candy, also as the color of the syrup is darker.
So when used for beer brewing, the use of the syrup is better, because youre going to get a stronger taste and a better color of your beer.
What you tell about brouwland and their version of the candy syrup is a totally different thing. You cant call melted sugar syrup. The taste of it will never be as strong as the taste of the real candy syrup, and then were not even talking about the color.
Were the only producer of candy syrup in Europe. I guess that there are other countries where you can get our syrup (Greece for example), but in Norway unfortunately, only the rock candy is available in stores (and cane sugar cubes, but thats something different), not the syrup.
I hope my answer will be useful. If you have more questions, you can always send an e-mail or call.
